Selection Method of Flux

Selection method

For manufacturers, there is no way to test the composition of the flux. If you want to know whether the flux solvent is volatilized, you can simply measure the specific gravity. If the specific gravity increases a lot, it can be concluded that the solvent has volatilized.

When choosing flux, there are the following suggestions for manufacturers:

Smell

Preliminary determination of what solvent is used, such as methanol, which has a relatively small but pungent smell, isopropyl alcohol, which has a heavier smell, and ethanol, which has a mellow smell. Although suppliers may also use mixed solvents, they are generally willing to provide a composition report if they are asked to do so; however, the price of isopropyl alcohol is about 3-4 times that of methanol. If you are trying to lower the price with the supplier, it may be difficult to say what is inside

Confirm the sample

This is also the most fundamental method for many manufacturers to choose flux. When confirming the sample, the supplier should be asked to provide a relevant parameter report and compare it with the sample. If the sample is confirmed OK, the subsequent delivery should be compared with the original parameters. If there is an abnormality, the specific gravity, acidity value, etc. should be checked. The amount of smoke generated by the flux is also a very important indicator.

Third, the flux market is mixed. When choosing, you should have a clear understanding of the qualifications of the supplier. If necessary, you can go to the manufacturer to see the factory. If it is an informal flux manufacturer, it is very afraid of this set.

Detection method

Internal detection method;

⒈Look at the color

⒉Smell the smell: the stronger the smell, the better the stability of the flux

⒊Measure the specific gravity

⒋Look at the tinning situation

⒌Measure the impedance

Third-party detection:

⒈Test ROHS items

⒉Test the composition of the flux

Succinic acid Alias: Succinic acid Molecular formula: C4H6O4 Molecular weight: 118.09

Properties: colorless crystals, melting point 185oC, boiling point 235oC (decomposed into anhydride), specific gravity 1.572; soluble in methyl, ethanol, isopropanol, ether, ketones, insoluble in benzene and carbon tetrachloride.

Application: Succinic acid is mainly used as soldering acid in electronic chemicals, soldering flux, and solder paste. It has good soldering and acidifying activity. It can be used with adipic acid, certain surfactants, and some additives to improve soldering ability and prepare high-quality rosin-type, environmentally friendly soldering flux with good solderability. Succinic acid is used in the chemical industry to produce dyes, alkyd resins, glass fiber reinforced plastics, ion exchange resins, and pesticides; in the pharmaceutical industry, it is used to synthesize sedatives, contraceptives, and anticancer drugs. In addition, it can also be used as analytical reagents, food iron fortifiers, flavoring agents, and the preparation of electroplating solutions and PCB circuits.
