 Radiator Introduction And Working Process

In order to avoid overheating of the engine, it is necessary to disperse the relevant parts around the engine combustion chamber, such as the cylinder head, cylinder liner, valves and the entire engine block. At present, the automobile cooling system mainly relies on the oil circulation to take the internal heat away in time and transfer it to the fuselage, and then dissipates heat through the air, water circulation and radiator. In other words, there are three ways of engine cooling, namely water cooling, oil cooling and air cooling.

The water cooling system is generally composed of radiator, temperature controller, water pump, cylinder water channel, cylinder head water channel, fan and other components. The automobile radiator is an important cooling component in the automobile cooling system. Generally, it can be divided into longitudinal flow pattern and transverse flow pattern according to the flow direction of coolant. According to the structure of the cooling core, it can be divided into three types: segmented cooling core, tube strip cooling core and flat plate cooling core. According to the material, there are aluminum radiators (mostly for passenger cars) and copper radiators (mostly for large commercial vehicles).
Working principle of radiator: The cooling system of water cooling system is composed of water pump, radiator, cooling fan, thermostat, compensation water tank, engine block, water jacket in cylinder head and other components. The water pipes and fins of the radiator are mostly made of aluminum. Aluminum water pipes are generally flat, with corrugated fins between cooling pipes. Flat cooling tubes (similar to louver layout) and corrugated fins increase the area of air flow and are perpendicular to the air, thereby improving cooling efficiency and reducing wind resistance. When the coolant circulates in the radiator core, the air flows through the radiator core and cooling pipe, constantly taking away the heat of the engine thermal circulating coolant to cool the coolant. The cold air gas is heated by absorbing the heat emitted by the coolant. If the engine temperature is high enough to open the thermostat, the coolant will circulate, and more heat will circulate from the coolant to the radiator cooling pipe for heat dissipation. At the same time, turn on the fan to increase and help the air flow continue to dissipate heat through the radiator. As far as the radiator is concerned, it is equivalent to a heat exchanger.
